ThermOWeb | World Card Making Day with Glitz and Flock

Happy World Card Making Day to all of my card making friends! I feel like this day brings everyone together and it makes me so happy! I created a few more tone on tone cards with ThermOWeb Glitz Glitter Gel and Flock Transfer Sheets for a bunch of different occasions - birthday, sympathy, and anniversary!

I decided to keep my cards simple and keep the focus on the textured backgrounds. I used three colors of Deco Foil Flock Transfer Sheets - Blue Diamond, Ruby Red, and Purple Punch. I trimmed them down to be A2 sized, but decided to trim them down slightly smaller later. The key to trimming Flock Transfer Sheets is to trim them with the "pretty side" down - facing the trimmer. You want your blade to be cutting into the white backing of the Flock Transfer Sheets. This prevents the Flock from shedding.

I picked out three colors of Glitz Glitter Gel to match the Flock Transfer Sheets - Brilliant Blue, Red Velvet, and Wild Lilac. When I do tone on tone I like to go with colors that are close, but not exactly the same. I used a different stencil with each background - Floral Wave Offset on the blue, Floral Stained Glass on the red, and Stripes on the purple. I sprayed the back of each stencil with Pixie Spray and let them sit for about a minute before placing them on top of my trimmed pieces of Flock Transfer Sheet. I used a Stencil Pal to spread an even layer of the coordinating color of Glitz Glitter Gel over the Flock. The texture is amazing! The Flock Transfer Sheets are slightly dimensional and textured and the Glitz Glitter Gel gives even more dimension and so much shine!

I set my Glitz panels aside to dry - this takes about 30 minutes to an hour - and worked on my images. I kept with the monochromatic theme and stamped the sentiments and colored the images to pair with the backgrounds. I used the Simon Says Stamp Hexagon Greetings Stamp Set for the blue background, LDRS Creative Friends Stamp Set for the red, and My Favorite Things All the Cupcakes Stamp Set for the purple. I used Purple Tape to hold the coordinating dies in place over the images and trimmed out my little die cuts.

Once my panels were dry I added them to top folding A2 cards using iCraft Ultra Bond Liquid Adhesive. This is my absolute FAVORITE liquid adhesive! It holds on strong and keeps my Flock nice and flat on the card. I added my images and sentiments with iCraft 3D Foam Squares. These foam squares have about twice the lift and dimension as "traditional" foam squares making the images truly pop off the page!

Happy World Card Making Day to everyone! I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and that you're inspired! See you soon!
