ThermOWeb // Neon Flock Week - Orange Glow

Hello! Welcome to Neon Flock week with ThermOWeb and Rina K Designs! The new Neon Flock Transfer Sheets pack a gorgeous neon punch and are perfect for all kinds of bright projects! I'm using Orange Glow Neon Flock Transfer Sheets along with some other Orange Glow Neon products to make a yummy summery orange card!

I was totally inspired by an orange popsicle for this card! I wanted to really make the Orange Glow color pop and have it be the focal point of my card. What I really love about the Neon Collection from Rina K Designs is that all of the products (Electro-Pop ink, Flock Transfer Sheets, Enamel Transfer Sheets, and Glitz Glitter Gel) are all bright and vibrant, but are slightly different in color and you can really see it on this card! The Electro-Pop Ink is lighter than the Enamel Transfer Sheets, which is lighter than the Flock Transfer Sheets, but they are all that GORGEOUS Orange Glow color! I took advantage of the slight variations in color so that I could "stack" the Electro-Pop Ink, Flock Transfer Sheets, and Enamel Transfer Sheets on top of each other without all the colors running together!

I started by creating my striped background. I love using iCraft Easy Tear Tape to create backgrounds because there's no drying time! I'm an impatient crafter, so double sided adhesives are my best friends! I used 1/2" iCraft Easy Tear Tape and added stripes to my card base at 3/4" increments. I left the adhesive backing in place and inked the stripes between the tape lines. I did this before adding the Flock Transfer Sheets so that if I made a mistake and got ink where I didn't want it I could just wipe it off of the backer sheets instead of having it permanently on my Flocked stripes. I did a direct to paper technique - just used one of the flat edges of the Orange Glow Electro-Pop Ink to swipe some yummy Orange Glow ink onto my card between the iCraft Easy Tear Tape stripes.

The Electro-Pop Inks are dye inks so there is little to no dry time (another bonus for me! haha!!) After I applied the Orange Glow ink stripes I removed the backing from the iCraft Easy Tear Tape and added a piece of Deco Foil Orange Glow Neon Flock Transfer Sheet flock side DOWN into the adhesive and ran it through my die cutting machine. When I peeled back the Flock backer sheet I had such pretty Orange Glow textured and flocked stripes mixed with the Orange Glow Electro-Pop ink stripes!

I wanted to keep the focus on the Orange Glow Neon Flock stripes, so I added some simple elements onto my background using Deco Foil Double Sided Foam Adhesive Sheets. For the leafy element I added heavyweight white cardstock onto a piece of a Foam Adhesive Sheet and die cut it with the Leaf Canopy die from Altenew. What's great about these Foam Adhesive Sheets is that they are double sided, so all I had to do to adhere the leafy element to my card was peel away the backing and adhere it to my card. The adhesive is strong and will hold tight to the Neon Flock stripes. I used another piece of a Foam Adhesive Sheet and added a piece of an Orange Glow Neon Enamel Transfer Sheet on top and die cut it with a "thanks" die. Even though this die is fairly intricate you can see how BEAUTIFULLY the Enamel Transfer Sheet and Foam Adhesive Sheet die cut! I finished the card by adding the "thanks" die cut sentiment to the center of my card. I hope you love this yummy creamsicle inspired card using Rina K Designs Orange Glow products as much as I do!

Spring Themed Cards with Deco Foil Flock Transfer Sheets

Hello! It might still be super super cold, but Spring is on the horizon! I paired some cute floral papers and stamps with a few of my favorite colors of Deco Foil Flock Transfer Sheets to create a set of flocked Spring cards!

I started by picking out some colors of Deco Foil Flock Transfer Sheets that just sang SSPPPRRIIIINNNGG to me! Haha! I ended up choosing two original flock colors and two new flock colors - Sunshine Yellow, Purple Punch, Blue Sky, and Pink Carnation. I chose the Pink & Main Garden Gate Stencil to use for my backgrounds and sprayed the back of it with Pixie Spray and temporarily adhered it to some white cardstock. I used a Stencil Pal and spread some Deco Foil Transfer Gel DUO over the stencil. I repeated the process three more times so that I had four stenciled backgrounds.

Although the Deco Foil Transfer Gel DUO only takes a few hours to dry, I always find it best to let it sit overnight to fully cure. You'll know it's good to go when the DUO Gel changes from being white and opaque to clear and shiny. It will still be slightly tacky, but that's how it's supposed to be! I trimmed down pieces of Deco Foil Flock to be a bit larger than the stenciled backgrounds and put them flock side DOWN on top of the DUO Gel stenciled backgrounds. The fabulous thing about the new Deco Foil Transfer Gel DUO is that you don't need heat to transfer foil or flock onto the gel - you just need pressure! I ran each of the backgrounds through my die cutting machine and peeled away the Deco Foil Flock backer sheets to reveal the stenciled and flocked backgrounds!

What's more Spring than pretty flowers?! I stamped the two flowers and three leaves from the Altenew Build a Flower Dahlia stamp set four times and die cut them with the coordinating dies. I stamped the leaves in the same colors all four times, but I switched up the colors of the flowers so that each card would be slightly different. I wanted to throw even more springy vibes into the mix, so I chose four different floral patterned papers from the Lawn Fawn Spring Fling 6x6 Paper Pad.

I die cut the patterned papers with the largest die from the Pink & Main Stitched Rectangle die set and trimmed down the stenciled and flocked background pieces to mat on top of the patterned paper. I wanted there to be a more "frilly" or "pretty" element, so I die cut frames from the Pink & Main Reverse Scalloped Rectangle die set and layered the frames on top of the stencil backgrounds. I started adhering all of the pieces together using iCraft Ultra Bond Liquid Adhesive and iCraft 3D Foam Squares behind the flowers.

I switched up the background papers, Deco Foil Flock stenciled pieces, and flowers to make four different cards with the same Spring vibe! I kept the color of the patterned papers the same as the flowers on top and a coordinating Deco Foil Flock color in the middle! Liquid Watercolor with Altenew Rennie Roses + Save the Crafty YouTuber Video Hop

I recently purchased the Rennie Roses stamp set from Altenew and the Thanks a Bunch stamp set from Honey Bee Stamps and I've been DYING to use them together! I started by stamping my sentiment from the Thanks a Bunch stamp set using Versafine Onyx Black ink and my Mini MISTI. I covered the sentiment with clear embossing powder and heat set it until it was melted. I put the cardstock back into my Mini MISTI and stamped the flowers and leaves from the Rennie Roses stamp set with Versafine Onyx Black ink. I coated the flowers and leaves with white satin pearl embossing powder. I LOVE how this powder turns the black ink into a gorgeous silver color!

I decided to watercolor my images and used my Hero Arts Liquid Watercolors. Check out my video below if you want to see exactly how I colored them! I used a basic technique of wetting the area with clean water first and then dropping in color. I used a rainbow of liquid watercolors - Strawberry, Orange, Dandelion, Leaf, Deep Ocean, and Purple.

I finished off my card by using some Ebony Black Nuvo Crystal Drops. I have a trick for using this product that I recently learned! Watch my video below to see how to get perfect Nuvo drops every time!

Spinner Birthday Card with Heffy Doodle Party Palooza

Hey, everyone! I have a super fun card using the Heffy Doodle Party Palooza stamp set from Scrapping for Less! I have a video at the end of this post, so scroll down to watch it! This is my first spinner card and I'm obsessed!

I started by stamped out the cake and candle image twice onto Copic friendly paper and coloring them with the markers pictured below. I barely used any markers and tried my best to keep my coloring simple! It's important to select images that are symmetrical when creating a spinner card because you need to glue the images back to back. The candles had a little wax drip coming off the left side making them unsymmetrical, so after I stamped them I used a Copic safe pen to draw a straight line down the side of the candle eliminating the drip. This is better seen in the video below.

I used simple blending techniques and only 2 markers per color. Then I cut out my images right up against the black line and used a marker to go around the outside of the image to eliminate the white core of the paper that shows.

I wanted to add some interest to my background, so I used the Altenew Wave Builder stencil and some Cracked Pistachio and Scattered Straw Distress ink to create my stenciled background. I temporarily adhered my background to a white card base and die cut a circle through both my background and my card front. Now to create the spinner mechanism I glued a piece of clear thread to the top and bottom of the circle on the back of the stenciled background. Then I sandwiched the string between my two cake images. Make sure to use super strong adhesive when gluing the cakes back to back. This is the main focus of the card and you don't want it to fall apart!

I adhered the white frame to the card front and adhere the stenciled background to the card base. Then I used some black ink to stamp the sentiment from the Party Palooza stamp set. All that's left to do is wind up the cake and open the card and watch it spin!

You know I'm a fan of creating bonus cards! I had this cute die cut circle left over from my spinner card, so I popped it up with foam onto the front of another card and quickly colored another cake to be my focal image. I already had the sentiment set up in my MISTI so it was no problem to just stamp it again! Check out my video below!

Altenew Nature Snippets

Hi, there! I'm sharing a quick and simple card using products from Altenew today! I've always loved their floral layering stamps, but I just got my hands on the Nature Snippets stamp set and I love it!

This card was so easy and simple to make! I plan to make a bunch more with different colors! To start I stamped the background of an A2 sized card using the Altenew Pinstripe stamp with some black ink. I grabbed the Altenew Nature Snippets stamp set and used the largest layering stamp with the bird and some dye inks to stamp up the image. I stamped a coordinating sentiment and trimmed it into a strip and used my scissors to cut out the bird image. I popped both up with foam tape and that's all there is to it! Thanks for stopping by!

If You Can Dream It

Hello! Today I'm using the Don't Believe in Humans stamp set from Beth Duff Designs. When I saw the little piggy in this set I thought of her putting on her unicorn unitard and saving the world! I made a video tutorial for this card, so be sure to scroll to the bottom to watch!

I used the City Scene stencil from Altenew at the bottom of a piece of watercolor cardstock and blended on a rainbow of Distress Inks - Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade, Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron, Mermaid Lagoon, and Wilted Violet. Then I flipped over the stencil to the other side and blended on some Black Soot Distress Oxide ink to create a silhouette. It's not shown in the video - but I added some clear embossing powder over the the whole blended scene and the sentiment. It's something I do often so that I don't make smudges!

I stamped out my little super hero unicorn piggy and colored her with a mix of Copic and Spectrum Noir alcohol markers -

Unitard - Copic R83 and R85
Pig Body - Spectrum Noir PP1 and PP5
Unicorn horn - Copic YR07
Snout - Copic YR20

I added her to the scene and covered her with Spectrum Noir clear glitter pen. Check out the video below!

Masculine Thank You Card

Hi! 'Tis the season for thank you cards! I always find myself making a TON of thank you cards after Christmas, so I need to create cards with simple designs. One of my Christmas gifts was a giftcard to one of my favorite online shops - Butterfly Reflections, Inc! I love how quickly Vanessa ships and I love to support her dreams! As soon as I got my package I couldn't wait to dive in!

I seriously LOVE the Cube Builder stencil from Altenew! I am falling in love with stencils all over again! I feel like it's been forever since I've used them...but I'm starting to break them out again! This one is truly unique and I love it! I used Salty Ocean and Peacock Feathers Distress Inks ( a favorite color combo of mine! ) and then flicked on some water to distress the background. I also added some black ink spatters to tie in the black sentiment, which is from another new stamp set ( to me ) - Create A Smile Decorated Wishes Mixed Add On stamp set. I love the script of this stamp set and all of the different sentiments! I will definitely be using it again in the future!

Muse Card Club Polka Dots Cards

Hey everyone! I'm super excited to be entering my first cards into the Muse Card Club challenge blog. It's their 200th challenge...but a first for me!

Here's the card I've made:

Our inspiration image had polka dots and flowers. I loved the floral idea, but I wanted my black polka dots to be more subtle. I'm not one for big bold patterns lately, so I made this beauty using an Altenew stamp set, some dye inks, and a Hero Arts die!
