LDRS Creative | HSN Throwback - Layered Poinsettia Dies

Who's ready for Christmas?! It's only about 4 months away, and I am ready to bring you some fun Holiday vibes using some LDRS Creative products from HSN!

I started by project by using the flower dies from the Poinsettia Layering Dies from HSN to cut two shades of red cardstock, white cardstock, and kraft cardstock. I also used the leaf dies to cut three shades of green cardstock. Be sure to watch the video above to see how easy these dies are to layer and put together. I like to find a reference point when I'm layering. That makes it easier to know where to adhere the pieces to make sure they're lined up properly. Don't forget! LDRS often puts layering guides on the back of their packaging, so don't throw that away! It's a great visual aid. 

I wanted a pretty frame to accent my card, so I cut white cardstock using the Floral Foliage Slimline Dies. You can use just the outer die and you'll get a full panel with a cross stitch outline, but if you layer the two dies together, you'll get the frame with the cross stitch and foliage patterns. I cut a slimline card base to 3.25" x 8.25" and started adding my Layered Poinsettia flowers and leaves to fill the background. Every Holiday card should have a bit of sparkle, so I spattered some gold watercolor all over the background. I added foam tape behind the Floral Foliage Slimline frame and added it to the card.

All that's left is to add a sentiment! I used the Wishing You a Very Merry Christmas Dies and cut a layered sentiment and added it to the center of my card with foam tape. That's it! I hope you've enjoyed seeing some previously released HSN products in action! See you soon!

LDRS Creative October Features Day 1 | Christmas Forest Card

We are getting ready for Christmas at LDRS Creative! This month's feature theme is all about Christmas, so I used some of my favorite products (new and previously released) to make a simple Christmas forest card!

I cut the Modern Geometric Coverplate I and the Modern Geometric Coverplate III Dies and layered them onto a piece of dark teal cardstock with liquid adhesive. 

I stamped the tree cluster image from the Christmas Stable 4x6 Stamps, colored it with Copics, and cut it out with the coordinating dies. While I was stamping and cutting I stamped a sentiment from the Christmas Sentiments 4x6 Stamps and cut it out with the coordinating dies. 

I added my images onto a die-cut vellum circle with foam tape and that's it! Come back tomorrow for another Christmas inspiration video!

LDRS Creative | Layered Dahlia Dimensional Card

Layering dies are a fabulous and EASY way to bring stunning dimension to a card! You can find the full tutorial for this card on the LDRS Creative YouTube Channel!

I pulled together a few of my favorite products from the Summer 2022 Collection for this card. I have been LOVING the Natural Granite 6x6 Stamp. It gives the perfect amount of texture to backgrounds. I love adding spatters to my backgrounds, but this stamp does all of the work for me! I stamped the Natural Granite 6x6 Stamp with Raven Hybrid Ink onto a standard A2 card base and set it aside.

Next I grabbed the Dahlia Layering Dies and started cutting! I cut every other layer of the dahlia with dark pink cardstock and the others with light pink cardstock. I did the same with the stem and leaves - a light green and a dark green. If you have enough colors of cardstock you could cut each layer out of a different color. Ink blending over white cardstock is an option as well! I put foam tape between every layer for LOTS of dimension and covered it with liquid glitter. 

I wanted to keep the sentiment simple, so I stamped the Amazing You Sentiment Stack onto black cardstock with Watermark Embossing Ink and heat embossed it with White Embossing Powder. I used the Sentiment Stack Die II to cut out all of the sentiments and chose two for my card. I arranged everything onto my stamped background and that's it! Thanks for joining me!

LDRS Creative | Foiled Plaid Background

It's safe to say that I am obsessed with plaid this Holiday season! I have an easy way to add a pop of foil and create a plaid background with an LDRS Creative stencil! 

When I want to create multi toned plaid backgrounds I reach for striped stencils! I started with the Peppermint Stick Stencil and used an LDRS Creative Blender Brush to ink a white panel with Dan-D-Lion Hybrid Ink. The Peppermint Stick pattern is pretty on its own, but it's SUPER fun to rotate the stencil and then add a second layer to create a plaid! You could add the same or a different color ink, but I decided to use some Transfer Gel so that I could add some glittery gold foil to make this a festive Holiday background! 

Ilina Crouse has done some AMAZING blue/teal projects with the Layered Poinsettia Die Set and I wanted to try my hand at it! I know why she loves it so much! I wasn't so sure how my colored cardstocks would piece together, but my jaw dropped to the floor! Blue poinsettias for the win! I cut two blue color combos as I wasn't sure if I wanted to go with a more teal or blue leaning poinsettia and in the end I used them both! The back of the packaging for the Layered Poinsettia Die Set has a fabulous layering guide showing all the pieces in their proper positions, so if you ever get stuck turn the package over to the back! 

I adhered my die-cuts to my plaid foiled background and added a sentiment from the Potted Poinsettia Stamp Set stamped with Iced Tea Hybrid Ink to coordinate with the golden background. Thanks for joining me! I'll see you soon! 

LDRS Creative November Features | Dry Embossing with Stencils

Get ready for some Holiday inspiration! I decided to show you two different ways to dry emboss your backgrounds with LDRS Creative products. Today I'm showing how to use a stencil to emboss a background! 

I love using products in unexpected ways to stretch them and use them as much as possible. I used my die cutting machine and the Brocade Stencil to emboss a gold cardstock background. Even though the Brocade Stencil isn't a Christmas stencil it looks like it because of the gold background! I finished off the card with the LDRS Creative Layered Poinsettia Dies and a sentiment from the Christmas Wishes Sentiment Stack.

LDRS Creative October Features Day 2 | Perfect Petals Autumn Card

I love floral layering dies because they can be customized with any number of color combinations to fit any season! I used the new Perfect Petals Die Set from LDRS Creative to create a fall inspired flower! 

I used the Perfect Petals Die Set and cut all the pieces to build my flower and glued them together. I love the patterns in the Songbird Fields 6x6 Paper Pack and used the A2 Diagonal Stitched Layered Card Toppers Die Set to cut two patterns and layered them together onto a white card base. 

I stamped the Happy Me, Happy You Sentiment Stack Stamp Set with Watermark Embossing Ink and heat embossed it with gold and used the new Sentiment Stack II Die to cut out all the sentiments. I picked two sentiment strips and adhered them to the top of the card with foam tape. 

I let the die cut leaves hang off the sides of the cards for an extra touch of something special. I can always mail this card in a slightly larger envelope! Thanks for joining me! 

LDRS Creative | Peace & Joy Pirouette Background

I love to create my own background papers and the LDRS Creative Pirouette Pattern Templates helps make perfect backgrounds! 

Creating my own backgrounds is probably my favorite part of card making. Whether it's stamping, watercoloring, ink blending, etc - I just love it! I have been using the Pirouette Pattern Templates so often because they're great for building backgrounds. I've created video tutorials showing the circular patterns, so this time I thought I would use the bonus template and create a full background pattern! 

I used greenery stamps from the Peace & Joy Pirouette Stamp Set and four colors of green ink - Olive Branch, Four Leaf, Evergreen, and Pistachios-a-Plenty. In my video above I show you just how to create this background - it really is simple! I filled in the little squares in each quadrant, stamped and turned four times, and then repeated the process with a new color of ink and new stamps for each quadrant. 

The new Layered Poinsettia Die Set is simply gorgeous! I die cut the layered flower pieces from red cardstock, the leaves from three colors of green cardstock, and the centers from brown cardstock. The die-cuts are easy to align, but if you need a bit of help I always find it helpful to look at the back of the packaging. 

I die cut my background panels using dies from the A2 Stitched Layered Card Toppers Die Set and added them to a card base. I created a sentiment strip by stamping a sentiment from the Potted Poinsettia Stamp Set with Olive Branch Ink and finished the card by scattering some pearls around the card. That's it!
