InkOn3 | Layered Ornaments Card Set with Atelier Inks

It may the end of October, but the Holidays will be here before you know it! I used a layering stencil set from Pretty Pink Posh along with my InkOn3 Atelier Inks and some ThermOWeb Glitz Glitter Gel and created a quick set of Holiday cards! 

This card set was really quick to pull together and I love that you can customize your backgrounds to make whatever colors you want!

I used the Pretty Pink Posh Layered Ornaments Stencil Set along with my Atelier Inks and created four backgrounds. I used Marilyn Red, Goddess Green, Sweet Petunia Pink, and Trinity Teal Atelier Inks to create my baubles. 

I moved on to the second layer of the stencil set and first blended Bee Sting Yellow Atelier Ink and then a bit of Twiggy Brown Atelier Ink over the yellow to create a golden yellow ornament topper. Perfect! 

You could stop here and you would have some really cute inked cards, but the Layered Ornaments Stencil Set comes with a detail layer! I debated adding ink over the top for a quicker set of cards, but I really wanted some glitter! I broke out my Silver Glitz Glitter Gel and added glitter accents to each of the baubles. I'm really happy with how the silver looks with the bold ink colors! 

I wanted simple but elegant sentiments for each of my cards, so I stamped the Pretty Pink Posh Holiday Scripts Stamp Set with Blackout Hybrid Detail Ink and used the coordinating dies to cut out the sentiments. I pieced together sentiments and added them to each of the cards with foam tape.

ThermOWeb | Winged Things with Flock Spooky Halloween Card

The creepiest time of the year is almost upon us! And I thought these cute little beetles would look perfect in a web of ThermOWeb Flock! 

I love a nice cutesy Halloween card, but the spooky and creepy ones are right up my alley, too! I started with a piece of lime green cardstock and the Spider Web Stencil from Pretty Pink Posh. I sprayed the back of the stencil lightly with Pixie Spray - just a light layer will do the trick - and then let the adhesive dry for about a minute and temporarily adhered it to the lime green cardstock. I used a Stencil Pal to add a thin, even layer of Deco Foil Transfer Gel Blanco over the stencil, removed the stencil, and set the piece aside to dry completely. Be sure to wash your tools right away so the Blanco Gel doesn't dry onto them. 

I stamped and colored my images for the front of my card while the Blanco Gel dried. I used the Three Fellow Beetles Stamp Set from Lesia Zgharda. I think these insects are just wonderful! A fun fact about me - I have my degree in Forensic Biology with a concentration in Entomology, so insects and "creepy crawlies" are my little friends! I colored these guys with shades of bright green Copic Markers and cut them out with scissors. I also stamped a sentiment from the Pink & Main Fall Sentiments Stamp Set and trimmed it into a strip. 

My Blanco Gel background didn't take long to dry - just a couple of hours. The Transfer Gel Blanco doesn't change color as it dries - it stays bright white. This is perfect if you're looking for a glossy white stenciled background! Here's a couple of signs I look for to know my panel is dry - the cardstock will flatten. Because of the moisture in the Transfer Gel the cardstock curls slightly, but will flatten as the Transfer Gel dries. And when in doubt gently touch the back of the cardstock. If it feels cool the Transfer Gel needs to dry a bit more. 

Once my background was dry I turned on my laminator to the 5mil setting and let it heat up. I generally let my laminator heat up about 15 minutes after the "ready" light comes on. This way I can be sure it's nice and hot and I'll get a great transfer. I trimmed a piece of a Black Velvet Deco Foil Flock Transfer Sheet to be slightly larger than my background and placed it onto the cardstock so that the Transfer Gel Blanco was making contact with the "pretty side" of the Flock and placed the pieces into a carrier sheet and ran it through my laminator. Once it was cool I peeled back the backer of the Flock Transfer Sheet and voila! A fuzzy spider web with little bits of lime green peeking through! 

I decided to trim my panel down an 1/8 of an inch on all four sides so that I would have a white border. I adhered the background onto an A2 card base using a ThermOWeb Tape Runner XL. I wanted my beetles and sentiment to have dimension, so I used my favorite foam adhesive - iCraft 3D Foam Squares. These little guys have about twice the dimension of "normal" foam squares! I added the iCraft 3D Foam Squares to the backs of the sentiment strip and beetles and added a drop of iCraft Ultra Bond Liquid Adhesive to them to make sure they hold on nice and strong to the textured background. A Black and Gold Birthday

Hey, everyone! I know you've seen the December box from The Hedgehog Hollow, right!! It's full of products from Pretty Pink Posh! The box has a New Years theme, but I'm all about stretching my crafty goodies, so I made a birthday card! All I added was a "birthday" sentiment from a stamp set in the September 2018 box!

I love the gold, black, and silver color palette, so I decided to keep it even though it usually lends itself to New Years celebrations. I stamped the party hats and streamers from the Happy New Year stamp set onto watercolor cardstock. I used my regular Gansai Tambi colors as well as the Starry Colors palette to color all of the images and used the coordinating dies (included in the box) to cut them out.

I masked off the Happy New Year sentiment from the stamp set to just stamp the "happy" with black ink directly onto my card base and then stamped the birthday sentiment from the September box onto black cardstock and embossed it with white powder. I used foam tape behind all of my images and the birthday strip and adhered them onto the card around the "happy".

This card definitely needed a little pizzaz, so I reached for the sequin mix from Pretty Pink Posh, which is the subscriber bonus this month. I LOVE how shiny they are! And the different sizes are just amazing! This is probably one of my favorite cards I've made in a while! I hope you like it, too!

Masked Plaid Background

Hey, everyone! I'm so excited about the December box from The Hedgehog Hollow! It's full of goodies from Pretty Pink Posh! I just can't get enough of the script die! I keep using it! And the stamp set is perfect for New Years and other celebrations! I have plans for using the champagne glasses for an anniversary card! Let's get in to my card! And there's a video, too! You'll want to watch because it's difficult to explain how I made the background!

I knew I wanted to use the cute champagne glasses from the Happy New Year stamp set from Pretty Pink Posh, so I stamped them onto some Bristol smooth cardstock and colored them with my real brush markers. I added some Spectrum Noir sparkle pen to the champagne part and cut them out with the coordinating dies. By the way, how AWESOME is it that there are coordinating dies in this box!! I used them to die cut some sticky backed fun foam so I could add some perfectly shaped and even dimension to the glasses!

My background is made with a whole lot of washi tape and two colors of Nuvo Embellishment Mousse - Indian Gold and Black Ash. I started by masking off half inch strips onto some white cardstock and used a blending tool and foam to "blend" on the gold mousse. I waited about 5 minutes for it to dry and then masked off quarter inch strips going vertically for the black mousse. I thought it needed more black (even though it probably didn't! haha!!), so I framed up the gold mousse with horizontal stripes of the black. It ended up looking more "checkerboard-ish" than plaid, but I liked it anyway! And the mousse gives SO much shimmer and shine! It's gorgeous in real life!

When I think of New Years cards I always think of shiny and shimmery with a black, gold, and silver color palette. The silver mirror cardstock in the kit die cuts like a DREAM, so I used the Pretty Pink Posh New Year Script die from the mirror cardstock once and three additional times from regular white cardstock. I stacked up the three layers of white cardstock and glued the silver mirror die cut on top. This way the dimension matches the dimension with the champagne glasses and I didn't have to cut teeny tiny pieces of foam tape!

New Year Fireworks Cards

Hi! I always like to stay ahead of the times when I make cards, so the December box from The Hedgehog Hollow is just perfect! Everything inside is themed for the new year! Yay!! I had planned to use the silver mirror paper on the second background, but the Nuvo Mousse leaves so much shimmer and shine that it seemed to clash. A white die cut was actually just what I needed! I used some of the exclusive Pretty Pink Posh sequins to finish off both of the cards!

Pearl Embossed Flower Background

Hello, everyone! The stomach bug has done a number on my household this past week! It feels like it's been forever since I sat down and played in my craft room! I purchased a few things from Vanessa at Butterfly Reflections, Inc and I couldn't wait to play around!

I started with some pink cardstock and I stamped the new Floral Background stamp from The Stamp Market and heat embossed it twice with Hero Arts White Satin Pearl embossing powder. I completely blame Jennifer McGuire for this purchase! I certainly don't need more embossing powder...but she makes me need it if you know what I mean! I love the pearly shine of this powder! I die cut the Pretty Pink Posh Hello Friend Script die from darker pink cardstock and added some Wink of Stella for extra shimmer and shine!

Last Minute Shiny Christmas Cards

Hello, everyone! Merry Christmas to you on this day before the day before Christmas! This is truly a magical time for me and my family and I hope it is for yours, too! Leaf Die Cuts

Hi! I'm back with two more cards for you! Today I used projects from Pretty Pink Posh and Studio Calico. 

As soon as I saw the Stitched Foliage Dies from Pretty Pink Posh I knew I had to have them! I am in LOVE! There are so many things you can do with them! I decided to go with something clean and simple, so I die cut my two favorite leaves from watercolor paper and sponged on some Distress Inks - Fossilized Amber with Spiced Marmalade and Evergreen Bough with Scattered Straw. I embossed a few sentiments from the Studio Calico and Jasmine Jones set called Love Never Fails with gold embossing powder. I popped up the leaves with foam tape and I'm done!

Triangle Turnabout Thank You's

 Hey, everyone! I have two cards to share with you! One masculine and one that's more feminine. I'm always short on thank you cards and since I had all of my things out I thought I would make two cards!

Who else is in LOVE with the turnabout stamps from Concord & 9th!? I love them! They make backgrounds so easy! For the blue card I used 3 shades of blue inks from Simon Says Stamp and Studio Calico for the first three turns and then Ranger Liquid Platinum embossing powder for the last turn. I love this one! I usually shy away from blues, but this might make me come back to them! I love how they pair with the liquid platinum!

The second card is more feminine. Again I used various colors from Simon Says Stamp and Studio Calico. The backgrounds really do all the work for these cards! I wanted to finish off the cards and keep these clean and simple. I used the new script thanks dies from Simon Says Stamp. I love that this die is a set - one to cut the sentiment and another to cut the shadow! I cut a black sentiment for the blue card and a dark gray sentiment for the other. I used various sizes of Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear sequins to add a little shine!

That's all! Super simple, but the background really packs a punch!

Watercolored Hedgehogs

Hello! I know it's not the season for Valentine's Day cards, but my local county fair is coming up next month and I always enter my cards into the fair! One of the categories is Valentine's Day and I didn't have a card...so I made one! I took a lot of inspiration from Yana Smakula. She made a card a couple weeks ago where she watercolored circus images in lines. You can find her card here! Here's mine! 

The Sending Hedgehugs stamp set from Lawn Fawn is an older set, but it's one of my favorites...and it's my husband's favorite, too! I used Versafine ink and clear embossing powder to stamp and emboss the two hedgehogs and the heart all over my watercolor card panel. Then I used Distress Inks to watercolor the images. I used Brushed Corduroy, Gathered Twigs, and Vintage Photo for the hedgehogs, Festive Berries for the hearts, and Hickory Smoke for the shadows under the hedgehogs. 

I stamped the sentiment from an old Simon Says Stamp set and adhered it with foam squares. I used Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins to add some sparkle! That's it! Super simple, but I'm in love with this card! And now I'm ahead of schedule for Valentine's Day 2018! See you next time!

Fruity Backgrounds

Hey, there! Fruit stamps seem to be all the rage this summer! When I saw the Fruity stamp set from Studio Calico and One Little Bird I knew I had to have it! I have 2 card examples using this cute stamp set!

I love how you can make so many different kinds of fruits with the same stamps! I made watermelons and limes today, but you could use the same stamps to make lemons or oranges, too! And there are stamps to make peaches and strawberries in the set as well!

I used a Watermelon and Key Lime inks from Simon Says Stamp for the watermelons and Key Lime and Jellybean inks also from SSS for the limes. Add some black spatters, a sentiment strip, and some Pretty Pink Posh droplets and these cards are done!

These were so easy to make! I'm going to make more using different fruits. I'll have a whole farmstand of fruity cards! See you next time!

Floral Bliss

Hello! I have 2 super quick cards to share with you! I've been loving watercolor lately...well...I suppose for the past year! It's so easy and really helps me to relax!

For this first one I did a gradient of color with my Gansai Tambi watercolors, and then crinkled up some plastic wrap that I stole from my kitchen cupboard. I've had the same role since my freshman year of college! I'm glad it's finally getting used! I only let the background sit for about 30 minutes and it was dry! It was 94 degrees here today...so it didn't take much time at all! And this was the result! I stamped the floral image from the Simon Says Stamp Floral Bliss stamp set and added a sentiment. I used a marker to draw a fake banner to keep it a one layer card. I added some white Nuvo drops and some clear droplets from Pretty Pink Posh. The background does all the work!

I did this card almost exactly the same, just a different color scheme! I did just a regular watercolor background...no plastic wrap this time!

Hi, again! I have another clean and simple, easy peasy card for you today! I'm using just a few stamp sets and some gorgeous paper and embossing powder!

I picked up some gorgeous metallic paper from Neenah at my local craft store the other day and I just couldn't wait to use it! It has such a beautiful metallic sheen that I love! I thought it would look pretty with some Liquid Platinum embossing powder from Hero Arts. I stamped and embossed the large floral border from the Honeybee Stamps Zen Floral stamp set. I used my Versamarker to add a defined edge to the bottom of the flowers. I added a sentiment from the Right at Home Script Greetings set and added some sequins!

I tried to capture the sheen of the paper, but it was so difficult! You'll just have to take my word for it that it's gorgeous in real life!

Floral Border Cards

Hey, there! Today I have 5 cards to share with you! Four are super simple...even the fifth is simple...but a little more involved than the others! I used some older products...but who says that's a bad thing!

Here's the first card...the more involved one! I started by stamping the floral border image from an old Studio Calico card kit - Lisse Street from April 2015. I love love love this image! I stamped it with Versafine black ink and used clear embossing powder. It was super easy to line up and stamp because I used my MISTI! Where would I be without it! The sentiment is from the My Favorite Things Geometric Greenery stamp set. I used my Gansai Tambi watercolor set to add some quick and easy messy coloring to the image. Can you believe that was the hard one?! I popped on some sparkling clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh and decorated an envelope. Easy peasy!

While I had the image mounted on my MISTI I went ahead and stamped a bunch more cards! For these two I added a strip of washi tape and a die cut sentiment from the card kit. I have a bad habit of hoarding pretty things...and my goal for this year is to use more of what I have!

And now for the simplest design! I stamped and embossed like the others and then just added a sentiment die cut! And just like that I have five cards done and ready to send out!
