One Stencil Three Backgrounds with ThermOWeb

Hey, everyone! I'm on the ThermOWeb blog today with a yummy trio of cards featuring three different mediums you can use with stencils! And I have a video, too! I just got the Sweet Stamp Shop Healthy-ish stamp set and it is so cute I had to use it right away! I used the Circle Harlequin stencil from Miss Ink for all three of my backgrounds. The pattern is just amazing!

This one is my favorite! I used the Deco Foil Rainbow Shattered Glass Transfer Sheets with Deco Foil Transfer Gel to create my background.

I mixed together some Gina K Designs Glitz Glitter Gel in Turquoise Sea and Grass Green for my second card. It wasn't the background I intended to make - but I LOVE how it turned out!

I wanted to do a play on a chocolate vanilla swirl ice cream cone for my last card, so I used some Deco Foil White Pearl Metallix on kraft cardstock for my last card! And here's my video!

Tis the Season 52 - Lined Up for Christmas

Hey everyone! The Tis the Season Challenge Blog has a new sketch challenge for you to play with! Ready to see the sketch?

Easy enough, right? I think so! All you have to do is make a new Christmas creation following the sketch above. You may use whatever supplies you have in your stash. Then head over to the Tis the Season Challenge Blog and link up what you've made! Here's my project for this challenge:

I used a stamp set from Sweet Stamp Shop called Holiday Town. This stamp set is so cute! I used some washi tape and masked off a line straight across the top portion of my card and used an ink blending tool to apply some Antique Linen Distress ink. Instead of doing a scallop border just like the sketch, I thought it would cute to imitate the scallops by stamping some trees! The trees are also from the Holiday Town set and I stamped them with Cottage Ivy ink by Memento.

Next, I moved on to coloring my images. I used both Copic and Spectrum Noir markers. I thought the string of lights would be a good addition to the card, so I colored some of them, too. I thought my pine trees were looking a little naked so I stamped a bunch of the lights together to make one continuous string of lights. I fussy cit my images and stuck them on my card. I popped the house up with foam tape to add some dimension.

As you can see in the closeup, my coloring is not perfect. I had a bit of color bleeding, but that's okay. These are hand made!! I think we as cardmakers are sometimes too hard on ourselves and our work. I could have started over, but I think it's okay!

I added some clear Wink of Stella to the house and the lights because every Christmas cars needs glitter in some way! :)

I thought the bow in the sketch would be too much for my card. It just wouldn't have fit in with my design. Instead, I decided to stamp my sentiment where the bow would go. I used Memento Tuxedo Black ink so that the sentiment would stand out.

Sweet Stamp Shop Monster Valentines

Hello! I hope everyone had a fantastic Superbowl weekend! We are blanketed in snow here in NEPA, thankfully my husband was off from work, but I had to call off. But, what better time to bring you some super cute Valentine's Day cards?! Today's video features the Monster Mash stamp set from Sweet Stamp Shop. I just love this set! Cute for Halloween, birthdays, apology cards, or even Valentine's!! I use this set for any card occasion! I'll be making two cards at once, a blue/yellow combination and a pink one!

Here's a quick peek at both of the cards together. Both are very similar, just different color combos! First I started by stamping my monster images in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I also stamped a few of the extra eyeballs from the stamp set. I used Spectrum Noir markers to color them in. This was my first time filming myself coloring, so let me know if there's anything you'd like to see differently. I tried to place the caps in the left corner of my mat so you could see the colors I used, but I realized I wasn't zoomed in enough to make a difference, so they are in white text on the left side of the video screen.

Okay, so let's start with coloring the pink monster. I used FS6, PP1, and PP3. I started by laying down a base of FS6 and then used PP3 to add shading where I thought things would be darkest. Basically, I followed the rule that if something is under something, it will be darker. So I colored along the flower, since her head would be under it, under her eyes, and at the bottom of her body. Then I used PP1 to blend out my darkest color and added more FS6 over the whole body. I did the same exact thing for my yellow monster, except I used CT2, CT3, and CT4.

I wanted to color in the eyes just a bit, so I used my lightest gray, IG1, and the colorless blender. I put a bit of color onto the top and bottom of the eye and then blended out the color using the blender pen. This took away a bit of the pigment and softened the edges. Then I could go back and add some color to make the monsters have green and blue eyes. I let my blender and gray colors dry and then just added color around the black part of each little eyeball.

My papers are from the Lucky in Love collection from Echo Park and Allison Kreft. I cut my background pieces to be 1/8 " smaller than my card base. The text paper is cut 2 " wide. I adhered the papers together and then arranged the monster and eyeballs where I wanted them to be. I used a black pen to draw lines connecting the eyeballs behind the monster. I wanted them to be like extra monster eyes!

I stamped the sentiments "be mine" and "xoxo" in Tuxedo Black ink onto scrap white cardstock. I used Milo's ABCs from Lawn Fawn to form the words. I trimmed out the pieces and cut the ends at an angle.

I wanted a little more .... something to the card, so I took some silver thread and looped it around my fingers a few times, pinched it in the middle and held it in place with a glue dot. I stuck it down onto my cards and popped up the monsters with foam squares.

I thought that the blue card was lacking some Valentine's Day oomph, so I stuck on some puffy hearts from K&Company. I picked these up at Target and I love them! There's different colors and sizes to the hearts, so they're perfect for any project. I thought I'd continue the heart theme and add some hearts to my pink card as well.

I finished off the inside of the cards with a strip of matching patterned papers and a Happy Valentine's Day sentiment.

A Wee Bit Weird.

Hi, friends! Well....I've done it again...I let the time get away from me! Tis the season, I suppose. More work hours, more exhaustion, but of course more laughs and togetherness with friends and my family :) I just have a quick non-Christmas card to break up all the holiday cards you've probably been seeing everywhere!

See - so simple! I cut and folded an A2 card base from Neenah 110lb cardstock to start with. I used my 2 inch Fiskars circle punch to punch out a circle from some scrap flowery paper. Next I used the Monster Mash stamp set from Sweet Stamp Shop and some Versafine Onyx Black ink to stamp a few little monsters. I used my BIC markers to color in these cute little monsters. I think this stamp set is so super cute!

For some reason, the picture makes the coloring look blotchy. It's not like this in real life and I didn't catch it while I was photographing the card. I guess I'm just noticing it now because I'm staring at all of the imperfections!

The sentiment is from the same stamp set and I stamped it onto more Neenah cardstock with Versafine ink. I used my scissors to trim the strip into a banner shape.

I used my Scotch ATG tape runner adhesive to adhere the circle and the larger monster straight onto my card. Next, I used some foam squares to pop up my sentiment and used a "wee bit" of glue to adhere my smaller monster onto the banner.

Your Friendship Means the World to Me!

Happy Saturday, everyone! I thought I'd share a card with you today! I've been playing around with the Monster Mash stamp set from Sweet Stamp Shop. It's so adorable! I can't get enough of it! :) The grouchy monster, the happy one, and the little baby monsters! Ah! So cute! 

I made a card base from Neenah 110 lb Solar White cardstock and cut a piece of paper to cover the entire card front. Alas, I'm not sure where the paper is from. I bought it years ago at A.C. Moore and I cut of the tear strip with the manufacturer's name on it. :(

Next, I stamped one of each of the monsters on Neenah Solar White cardstock using Versafine Onyx Black Ink. Then I used my BIC markers and a colorless blender pen to color in the little monsters. I didn't use any fancy coloring techniques...just two pens for each color - a light and a dark. I started with the lighter color and colored the whole area and then took the darker pen and traced around the edges of the area I wanted to color and then used the lighter color to blend out the darker color. I used my colorless blender pen to make the polka dots on the "adult" monsters.

I cut them out with my Cutter Bee scissors. I used foam tape to adhere them to the card. The little monster is adhered with a double layer of foam tape.

I stamped the sentiment from a Simon Says Stamp set (Friendship Messages) onto Solar White cardstock with Versafine Onyx Black ink. The sentiment is actually one long sentiment, but I cut it in half so that it would fit a little better. I used my scissors to trip the paper into a banner shape.

I thought the card needed a little bit more....something! Have you ever been there? You look at the card and know it needs something more? Anyway, I pulled out my black enamel dots and added a few here and there to the card.
