Negative Die Cut Lucky Shaker Card

Hi! Remember my Lucky Gnomes card from last week? I die cut the word "lucky" with the Thin Alpha Dies from Pink & Main. I was left with this fun sentiment block that was just too perfect to throw away, so I decided to put it to good use!

This whole card started with the green piece with the word "lucky" die cut from the center. It's technically trash! A leftover piece that for some reason caught my eye. I had blended on some green ink with an Ergonomic Blending Brush and added flicks of black paint and used the Thin Alpha Dies to die cut the word from it for a card I made last week. I looked at this leftover piece and immediately saw a shaker card!

I added a piece of acetate behind the die cut panel and used foam tape to create a traditional shaker well and filled it up with rainbow semi translucent sequins. I wanted to have a fun background, so I adhered the Clover Stencil on top of an A2 card and used an Ergonomic Blender Brush to blend some mustard yellow ink over the stencil. I adhered the shaker panel on top of the card base and I just LOVE how the green and yellow pair together!

I stamped a coordinating sentiment from the Lucky Gnomes stamp set and trimmed it into a banner and added it on top of the word shaker panel. Then I finished off the card with a scattering of dots from the Enchanted Garden Enamel Shapes pack. That's it! I hope this inspires you to look at your "trash" pieces of die cut cardstock in a new way!
