Kindred Stamps Once Upon a Nap Sneak Peek

Hello, everyone! I'm SO excited about the May 2019 release from Kindred Stamps! This release has some of my FAVORITE fandoms! I have a video at the end of this post - I encourage you to watch it! It has been so so so so rainy here that it was difficult for me to photograph this project to show off its true glory! Haha! But you can definitely see all the sparkle and shine in the video!

The entire Kindred Stamps May release will be available Friday, May 24th at 8am PST/11am EST. Be sure to subscribe to the Kindred Stamps blog to see a daily line up of sneak peeks from our amazing Design Team and see the full product release on Friday! Come join the Fan Club and release event to be part of the release fun, and you may just win some Kindred Stamps credit!!

But wait ... there's more!! Haha! Kindred Stamps is giving away a $10 giftcard to a random commenter on my blog and YouTube channel! To win leave me a comment telling me your favorite medium to use with stencils! I used three on my card, but there's so many more! You have until May 28th at 9am EST to leave a comment! Please make sure to leave your email so that I can contact you! (Or if you're logged in to Google that should work!) Good luck!

I am featuring the Once Upon a Nap stamp set today and I KNEW that I had to have it as soon as I saw it! This is my FAVORITE villain! She's just so super fierce! I wanted to bring out her dragon form in the background, so I used the new Dragon Scales stencil from last month's release from Kindred Stamps!

I adhered the Dragon Scales stencil with Pixie Spray because I wanted every bit of this stencil to stick to my cardstock and stay stuck through every medium I planned to use. To start off I added color with Twisted Citron, Peacock Feathers, and Wilted Violet Distress Inks using my Life Changing Blender Brushes from Picket Fence Studios. Keeping my stencil in place I sprayed a healthy coating of Silver Glitter Dust from ThermOWeb and then used Versamark ink over that and heat embossed the panel with clear powder. And the Pixie Spray held on through all of that!!

After using the three mediums above I wanted to color the white part of my dragon scales background. I used some Indian Gold Nuvo Mousse and a foam blender to add the mousse and buffed off the extra with a towel. The inked background stays in tact because the clear embossing powder acts as a sealant.

Now it's time for finishing touches! I stamped and colored my villain image from the Once Upon a Nap stamp set and I felt like it was getting lost against the colorful background, so I added a die cut vellum rectangle and a thin frame to the center of my card. I gold heat embossed a sentiment to tie in the gold in the background and added some black Nuvo Drops to tie in the black frame! Check out my process video below!

Thanks so much for joining me! I hope you loved this little peek at the May 2019 release from Kindred Stamps!

  11. This is beautiful. I have used stencils with acrylic paints on gel press or blend through different brands ( even very old ink with breaking down ink pads). I have some dimensional paste but not tried it yet.
