Chipboard Masking with Distress Oxide Sprays

Hi, everyone! One of the main reasons I hoard pretty things is because I don't want to use them up - then they're gone! That's how I feel about the chipboard pieces in the February 2019 box from The Hedgehog Hollow. These pieces have been sitting on my desk since I got my box and I just look at them! They're so pretty! I decided to come up with a way to use them but not use them up!

I decided to use my chipboard pieces as a stencil of sorts with my Distress Oxide Sprays. This was my first time using these sprays and I definitely need more colors! They are such a great way to make quick and easy backgrounds!

I decided to use my new Pixie Spray from Thermoweb to adhere my chipboard pieces to my cardstock. Pixie Spray is a new spray meant to adhere your stencils to paper with a tight grip but not tear your paper. I figured it would adhere chipboard pieces as well! I sprayed the backs of my chipboard with the Pixie Spray and pressed the chipboard onto my cardstock. I have two colors of Distress Oxide Spray - Spiced Marmalade and Picked Raspberry. I thought about mixing the colors, but I decided to go with the individual colors on each card and I love it! I gave my cardstock a couple of sprays and let it dry. When I peeled off my chipboard pieces I was so excited! The Pixie Spray worked PERFECTLY! And I can still use those chipboard pieces on other cards!

To finish off the cards I stamped the sentiment from the Buzzin' Around stamp set from Elizabeth Craft Designs (included in the kit) and added a few pearls from The Ink Road. I love how these cards turned out! You can watch the video below!

I hope you are inspired!
