Masking Two Ways for Scrapping for Less

Hi! Today I'm showing you two ways to use masking to create an *almost* one layer card! I used the Graduation Boy stamp set from Dreamland Crafts and you can get yours at the Scrapping for Less store!

I started by stamping the boy from the Graduation Boy stamp set onto a piece of watercolor cardstock with Versafine Onyx Black ink. I heat embossed it so that I could do some watercoloring with my Sakura Koi watercolor set. Once my watercoloring was done I heat set the paint completely. I used a Versamarker (Versamark ink in pen form) and colored all over the colored image and embossed it with clear powder. I repeated the process again so that I would have more dimension to my clear embossing. This is one of my favorite ways to emboss! There's no need to fussy cut a mask and no wait for drying time!

I used a piece of Inkadinkado masking paper and sketched a simple hill shape and cut along my sketch line. I used the top piece to mask off the upper portion of my card so that the hill section of my cardstock is exposed. I used two colors of green Distress Ink - dark at the top and lighter at the bottom. Then I dried the ink with my heat gun and added the other portion of my masking paper to the cardstock so that the green hill is covered.

I grabbed the Cloud stencil from Pink & Main and some Distress Ink and created my cloudy background. It's super easy since I didn't have to mask off my colored image - I just blended the ink right across my heat embossed image! I used a stitched rectangle die to cut down my panel and adhered it to a card base! You can watch my process video below!

Thanks for watching!
