Pink & Main Need Coffee Clean and Simple Masked Background

Hi, everyone! Today I'm making a clean and simple masked background card with the Need Coffee stamp set from Pink & Main for Scrapping for Less! This girl looks just like me in the morning! Haha! I fell in love with her bunny slippers! Watch the video at the end of this post for my process!

Isn't the card so cute! I created a quick and easy background by die cutting a piece of kraft cardstock with a stitched rectangle die that would be slightly smaller than my card base. Then I used 1/4 inch skinny masking tape (but you could use skinny washi tape) and used my grid mat to space the strips of masking tape 1/4 inch apart. Once I had my panel covered with the tape I used a foam blender to blend on some white pigment ink. I tried to keep the ink concentrated near the bottom and fading out towards the top left.

I stamped out the image from the Pink & Main Need Coffee stamp set with Copic safe ink and colored her using super basic two color blending for most of the colors. I used a variety of Copic markers and some Spectrum Noir markers. I snapped a photo of the markers I used so you can easily copy my coloring blends if you'd like to!

I mounted my inked background onto a white card base and used foam tape to pop up my colored image. I stamped the sentiment onto a strip of white cardstock and trimmed the edge into a banner and mounted it with foam tape. I thought it needed a little finishing touch, so I added some embellishments with my White Blizzard Nuvo drops! Check out my process in the video below!
