Pearl Embossed Flower Background

Hello, everyone! The stomach bug has done a number on my household this past week! It feels like it's been forever since I sat down and played in my craft room! I purchased a few things from Vanessa at Butterfly Reflections, Inc and I couldn't wait to play around!

I started with some pink cardstock and I stamped the new Floral Background stamp from The Stamp Market and heat embossed it twice with Hero Arts White Satin Pearl embossing powder. I completely blame Jennifer McGuire for this purchase! I certainly don't need more embossing powder...but she makes me need it if you know what I mean! I love the pearly shine of this powder! I die cut the Pretty Pink Posh Hello Friend Script die from darker pink cardstock and added some Wink of Stella for extra shimmer and shine!

Hope you enjoyed this super quick card!

Little Lizard Valentine's Day Card

Hello, everyone! I'm up on the Craftin Desert Divas Blog with a clean and simple Valentine's Day card tutorial to share with you! It's no secret that I LOVE taking little images and creating backgrounds with them, so here's how I do it! Let's start with the full card!

Isn't it just too cute! I'm a lover of little creepy things - not that lizards are creepy...I seriously considered using the snake image because I love them!! Let's get started with the tutorial!

 Rockin Reptilians Stamp Set

Here's a few of the supplies I will be using - some white paper cut to 4.25" by 5.5", Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and the Rockin Reptilians stamp set. I stamped the little lizard all over my paper making sure to rotate my image to give the look of lizards crawling all over my card.

Next I chose some Copic marker combos- the lightest lizards are R81 and R83, the medium lizards are R85 and R25, and the darkest are RV09 and RV17. Honestly, there's not much of a difference between the medium and dark lizards, so you could skip and just do 2 different colored lizards, but once I started I decided to keep going with the 3 color combos. I did simple blending - putting down a line of the darker color along the curve of the body with the spots and then coloring in the rest of the lizard with the lighter color.

 Black Nuvo Drops

Once the panel is colored it's time to fix any mistakes and embellish a little bit! I used a white gel pen to cover up any areas where I had gotten outside of the line. The black Nuvo Drops are PERFECT for adding dimension to each little spot and to the eyes. You can see here in this photo that I goofed on a few of the eyes and added too much - no problem! In the final card I turned the panel upside down and covered it up with the sentiment!

 Happy Sentiments Stamp Set

Speaking of sentiments...I grabbed the new Happy Sentiments stamp set and a banner from the Flag Banner Dies and curved my sentiment to fit into the die cut banner.

 Happy Die

To add to the sentiment I die cut the word "happy" from the new Happy Dies - black for the word and white for the shadow. I added some clear shimmer to the black cardstock to make it pop!

I popped up the "happy" with foam squares and adhered the banner flat to my card - making sure to cover up those wonky eyes!. That's all! Simple and easy enough! Click the photos below to check out the supplies I've used today!

CDD January Mood Board Background Watercolor

Hello, everyone! I'm back with another project for the Craftin Desert Divas January Mood Board! If you want to play along simply make a project using CDD products and upload your photo to the Facebook group album!

I was inspired by the evergreen color and the feel of the mood board - it felt cold and wintery...but in a warm snuggly way! Haha! I stamped multiple images from the Winter Cheer stamp set with Versafine black ink and watercolored the images and the background with watercolors. I die cut my panel using the largest scalloped rectangle die from the Fancy Frames dies and popped it up with foam onto my card base. I heat embossed a sentiment onto black cardstock and popped that up as well!

Craftin Desert Divas January Release - Get Well

I have one more project to share with you featuring the new release from Craftin Desert Divas! This one features one of my favorite stamp sets from the release - Get Well! I am seriously lacking in the get well card department and I love the images in this stamp set!

 Get Well Stamp Set

 Get Well Stamp Set

I started by sponging on some Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide ink through the Sorted Shapes 1 Stencil. This stencil is shaping up to be a staple in my craft room! I spattered on some black ink and colored my images from the Get Well Stamp Set with Copic markers while the ink dried. I heat embossed my sentiment onto black cardstock - one of my favorite ways to do a sentiment. It just makes it pop!

I hope my projects this week inspired you to pick up some of the new products from Craftin Desert Divas!

Summery Birthday Tag

Hi! Here in NEPA we just got about 6 inches of snow...that's not a lot by any means...but it has me wishing for warmer weather! I colored up some cute Craftin Desert Divas images and made a cute shaker tag!

Isn't it the cutest! I used Staedtler pens - a new favorite! - and a watercolor brush to color a few images from the Summer Vibin' stamp set. I die cut a tag from the Shaker Tag Die Set and used Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide and then stenciled some Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide ink through the Sorted Shapes 1 stencil. I stamped my sentiment from the new Happy Sentiments stamp set, added some Shimmer and Citrus Bliss sequins to the shaker portion, and tied up the tag with some tulle and twine from my stash! All in all this project only took me about 30 minutes! Can't beat that!

Craftin Desert Divas January Release - Crabby Critters

I love cute critter stamp sets and this one has a seriously unique critters and sentiments! I love that these little guys are angry, sad, etc! Here's the whole set:

Crabby Critter Stamp Set Crabby Critters Stamp Set

This Crabby Critters Stamp Set has so many possibilities, but I thought this little crying reindeer would be super cute if he had a little potty accident! I have a 2 year old and we are going to start potty training soon - so I know a lot of pee pee accidents are in our future! It made me giggle!

I made the background with a Mermaid Lagoon Distress Crayon and colored the reindeer with Copic markers! I added some glitter and Glossy Accents, too!

Ultra Violet Inspired Unicorn Card

Hey, everyone! I am so excited that the Pantone color of the year is Ultra Violet! I have recently fell back in love with purples and I'm glad to have an "excuse" to share all of my purple creations!! Today I made a card inspired by the Craftin Desert Divas color challenge! Head over to the Facebook group to play along!

I made my background with some purple shimmer paper and a We R Memory Keepers Gemstone embossing folder. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the 3D effect! I wanted a little something more, so I added some flicks of white and gold.

I colored up the unicorn image from one of my FAVORITE CDD stamp sets - Sparkle! This set is full of adorable unicorn images, this one just happens to be my favorite! I watercolored her up with some Staedtler markers and the gold is a Gelato stick from Faber-Castel mixed with a bit of water.

I even used a pearl embossing powder for the sentiment to give it some extra pizzaz! I die cut my sentiment panel first from the smallest rectangle in the Fancy Frame Die Set and then finished off the edge with a die from the Shaker Tag Die Set. A sprinkling of watercolored hearts and this super sparkly card is done!

Here's the info to play along with the Craftin Desert Divas color challenge! Click the photo to head over to the Facebook group! All you have to do is upload a photo of your project using Craftin Desert Divas products to the album to be entered to win the prize pictured below!

Craftin Desert Divas January Release - Happy dies and Happy Sentiments

Hello! Today I'm sharing another card featuring the Happy Sentiments stamp set and Happy die!

 Happy Die

Christmas is over...so that means it's time for Valentines! I used the Happy die (which comes with the word and the layer!! I love dies like that!) and used the shadow part to repeatedly die cut a white panel. Then I used the actual word die to cut a bunch of "happy" words. I backed the die cut panel with some dark pink cardstock and heat embossed the sentiment from the Happy Sentiments Stamp Set onto matching cardstock and cut it out using a Flag Banner Die. I sprinkled on some Bubblegum sequins and this card is done!

Craftin Desert Divas January Mood Board

Hi! I have another project to share with you using the January Mood Board from Craftin Desert Divas! Don't forget that all you have to do to join in the fun (and have a chance to win some prizes!) is create a project using CDD products and upload it to the Craftin Desert Divas January Mood Board Facebook Group!

I started with a piece of watercolor paper cut down to 4" x 5.25". I used the larger dot shape from the Sorted Shapes 1 Stencil and traced the outside of each dot with a light gray Stabilo pen. Then I used a waterbrush to pull in color from the outside into the middle to fill in the circle. The color wasn't moving the way I wanted it to, so I scribbled the marker onto an acrylic block and used that to get the color I was wanting. The background reminds me of falling snow! Just like so many of the images from the mood board! I wanted a wintery critter, so I colored the Yeti image from the Yeti Fun stamp set with Copic markers and added it to my card with foam squares. I stamped the sentiment from the Wishful Thoughts stamp set and heat embossed it with black embossing powder.

I hope you play along with the mood board this month!
