Masculine and Feminine Coffee Cards.

Oh, hello! I'm finally breaking into my Simon Says Stamp card kit for this month! It's so cute! The papers, the sequins, the die...Oh my! The papers are perfect for making masculine cards, and I know a bunch of manly men who love their coffee!

I also wanted to mention that I'll be submitting the first card to the Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge. This time the challenge is all about fall. What do I love about fall? It's finally acceptable to use dark orange-y colors (like I've used here), it always smells like apples, and it's time for a nice cup of hot chocolate at night! Join in the challenge by following the link below:

Let's see the card!

Here's the card I'm making in today's video. I started with an A2 card base and covered the card front with orange cardstock from the kit. Next, I layered an orange and white paper and a solid orange paper on top.

I used Versafine Onyx Black ink to stamp my coffee cup image onto more of the orange and white patterned paper. I used the same ink to stamp the "hello" sentiment and some Studio Calico Color Theory Clean Slate ink to stamp the shading onto the bottom of the cup. I used my EK Success Cutter Bee scissors to cut out the cup and a craft knife to cut out the handle.

I also stamped a portion of the coffee cup onto some scrap brown paper and cut out just the little piece that serves as the coffee inside the cup. I used my Martha Stewart Fine Tip Glue Pen to glue this little guy onto my larger image.

The sentiment is also from the stamp set and stamped in Versafine ink. I used some foam squares to pop up my coffee cup onto the orange panel just above the sentiment. The steam is a stamp from the kit (stamped in SC Clean Slate ink). I stamped the full image once and then inked up just the larger steam image again, rotated it, and stamped again.

While I was stamping...I thought it would be fun to use some other papers from the kit to make a more feminine version of the same card. All of the steps are the same...just with prettier colors! :)

That's it for today! I'll have a few more videos with this kit coming soon! Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Really great showcasing of the versatility of this set. I definitely have to say I love the bright colors of the second card (but that's probably because I'm a girl). :) Thanks for sharing!
