LDRS Creative | Watercoloring with Hybrid Inks

I'm pretty lousy at no line coloring, but I have a simple trick for you using LDRS Creative Hybrid Inks!

I love the look of no line coloring, but try and try as I might - it's a technique I haven't mastered. So I cheated! I started by stamping the orchid image from the Orchid 4x6 Stamps onto a piece of LDRS Creative Watercolor Cardstock. I didn't use black ink though! This time I used a bit of masking and stamped the flowers with Grape Ape Hybrid Ink and the stem and leaves with Four Leaf Hybrid Ink. Here's the trick - I colored the image with the same hybrid inks. Adding water to hybrid inks won't make them work like watercolors, but adding a bit of alcohol will! I smooshed the inks onto my glass work surface and added some isopropyl alcohol and used a brush to 'watercolor' the image and then cut it out with the Orchid Coordinating Dies. 

I stamped the small floral cluster image from the Orchid 4x6 Stamps all over a piece of A2 cardstock with Alloy Hybrid Ink and then added some purple shimmer watercolor spatters. I stamped the sentiments with Raven Hybrid Ink and added some clear embossing powder to the sentiments for shine. As I started to build my card I realized that I didn't love the size, but I had already made the background and I didn't want it to go to waste, so I decided to add some layers! I cut a piece of white cardstock slightly larger than A2 - 4.5" x 5.75" - and dragged my Alloy Hybrid Ink along all 4 sides to create a mat that perfectly matched the stamped piece. 

I created a card base that was slightly larger than my mat - 4.75" x 6" - and put my card together with foam tape so that there would be a lot of dimension for this simple card. It's a strange size, but I think it works! Thanks for joining me!
