I used the same technique and process for each of my four cards. Often when I work with the Rina K Designs Neon Collection I find myself making four cards instead of one. How can I pick a favorite neon color!?
There are so many ways to use Neon Flock Transfer Sheets and Glitz Glitter Gel. I paired them together today and used the Flock in place of colored cardstock!
I die cut each of the four colors of Neon Flock Transfer Sheets - Poppin' Pink, Orange Glow, Hello Yellow, and Screamin' Green - with one of the Notched Squares Dies from Whimsy Stamps. The Flock Transfer Sheets die cut beautifully! You can just die cut the Flock direct from the package. Nothing fancy here! Just die cut in your cutting machine like you would any other piece of paper or cardstock.
Once all four of my Flock Transfer Sheet pieces were cut it's time to add some Glitz Glitter Gel! I sprayed the back of the Backgammon 2 Stencil from Miss Ink Stamps with a light application of Pixie Spray and set the stencil aside for about a minute so the Pixie Spray could dry and become slightly tacky. I placed the stencil on top of the die cut Flock pieces and pressed lightly to adhere the stencil to the Flock. Again I'm treating the Flock Transfer Sheet die cuts just like regular paper. The only difference is that it has a fun fuzzy texture! I used a Stencil Pal and gently scraped some of the matching Glitz Glitter Gel across the stencil and repeated with all four backgrounds.
I set the panels aside to dry for a about an hour and started working on my images. I used the PhotoPlay Dragon Dreams Dragons Stamps and Dies - aren't they cute?! I just love them! I wanted to keep these cards monochromatic, but I thought a break of color would be nice. I decided to keep the dragons white and accent with colors matching the Neon Flock and Glitz. I colored the dragons with Copic Markers and die cut them with the matching Dragon Dreams Dies. I also stamped a little sentiment strip from the Dragon Dreams Stamp Set for each card.
I created four card bases that measure 5 x 5 inches square. I love creating square cards of this size because you can still mail them in a 5 x 7 envelope without extra postage! I adhered my Flock and Glitz background pieces onto the card bases with iCraft Ultra Bond Liquid Adhesive and the dragons and sentiment strip with iCraft 3D Foam Squares.
I hope this set of neon monochromatic cards gives you some ideas for mixing together your Flock Transfer Sheets and Glitz Glitter Gels!
Thanks great post.
