Simon Hurley create. | Posh Poinsettias

I just looooove Christmas! And the new Christmas in July release from Simon Hurley create.! There are new inks, clear stamps, background stamps, and stencils! I made a quick card with the Sweater Weather Stencil and the new ink colors!

This card is incredibly easy to create - but look at that two colored background! Isn't it pretty?! And with a few tweaks you could make this card even simpler and easier to mass produce!

I used the Sweater Weather Stencil along with the new Game Over and Fake Plant Dye Inks. I used Stark White Cardstock - this is the BEST cardstock I have ever found for ink blending. The ink turns out vibrant and true to color! I started by stenciling with Game Over, then I removed my stencil, shifted it until the patterns nested together, and stenciled again with Fake Plant. This gives me this fun looking background! If you want to skip the shifting you totally could and you'd have a quicker background - but this really didn't take any time at all.

It was easy to create the focal image as well! The new Posh Poinsettias Stamp Set is a layering stamp set, so with just 3 easy steps you could have a colored image ready to go! I stamped the outline of the poinsettia with black ink, the flower with Bee Sting and the leaves with Later Gator. I double stamped each image so that they would match the saturation of inks in the background. I decided to step up the stamping by adding flicks of color with a darker Copic Marker than the ink. Again, skip this step if you want to create a simpler card. I decided to back the image with vellum to help it stand out from the background.

Now for finishing touches! I stamped a sentiment from the Posh Poinsettias Stamp Set onto Stark White Cardstock with Fake Plant Ink and trimmed it into a strip and added it with foam tape. I added small pearls to the center of the poinsettia as well as to the center of the stenciled background. And of course some liquid glitter to the poinsettia! You could skip these steps if you're mass producing, but I love the classiness of the pearls! The new Christmas in July release from Simon Hurley create. is available now! Grab what you need for your Holiday cards and get started early so you can sit back and relax when the Holidays come!
