With almost 150 blogs in this hop there are bound to be some surprise mishaps. It happens! If you get lost or encounter a broken link or if you want more details about the #spreadjoynotgerms blog hop you can visit either the Catherine Pooler blog or The Hedgehog Hollow blog. You should have arrived here from Lisa Mensing (LOVE HER!) and your next stop in the hop is the fabulous Kristina Hein.

I'm representing two of my favorite companies for this hop - InkOn3 and Pink & Main! I made a trifold card with heat embossing, stenciling, and ink blending! And a video! For a full step by step visual tutorial be sure to watch the video on YouTube or below. Let's hop in to it!

To make this card you will actually need two standard A2 side folding cards. This is a trifold card with the top flap cut off halfway for a little bit of added interest. It's easiest to see how this card is assembled through the video above, so if you get lost with my terrible written instructions, just click that play button! I started with one of the side folding cards and put the folded side on the RIGHT - so technically the first card is backwards. This card will get glued to the inside of the first card - that's why it needs to be stamped backwards. I used InkOn3 Juicy Watermark Ink to do some inking and heat embossing. I inked up the Pink & Main Butterfly Background Stamp with the InkOn3 Juicy Watermark Ink and stamped my card with the fold on the RIGHT then I heat embossed the image with the Ultra Fine Gold Rush Embossing Powder from InkOn3. While I had my embossing supplies on my desk I also stamped the large butterfly image from the Pink & Main You Can Fly Stamp Set with the InkOn3 Juicy Watermark Ink and embossed it with Ultra Fine Gold Rush Embossing Powder.

Now it's time for some vibrant ink blending. I used the Atelier Inks from InkOn3 for my blending. These inks are so CREAMY AND DELICIOUS! I wanted to incorporate a rainbow with the gold embossing because nothing makes me happier than rainbows and gold! I started with the large heat embossed butterfly from the You Can Fly Stamp Set and blended on Marilyn Red, Marigold Orange, and Bee Sting Atelier Ink. Then I used the You Can Fly Die Set to cut out the large butterfly image. I wanted to continue the rainbow from my die cut butterfly onto the heat embossed Butterfly Background, so I used Goddess Green, then Peacock Blue, and My Jam Purple Atelier Inks to complete the rainbow.

I considered leaving the front flap of my card white, but I decided to bring in more gold. And glitter!! I temporarily adhered the Petals Stencil from Pink & Main onto a piece of white cardstock with Pixie Spray from ThermOWeb and used a Stencil Pal to apply Gold Glitz Glitter Gel over the stencil and set that aside to dry. It didn't take long - only about 30 minutes or so. Now let's dive into the assembly! It really isn't hard. I took an A2 side folding card and trimmed 2 1/8 inches off the front flap - half of the front of the card. I took my ink blended card - the backwards one - and added iCraft Ultra Bond Liquid Adhesive to the back and adhered it to the inside of the first card. That creates a basic trifold card! Easy peasy! I trimmed the Glitz Glitter Gel stenciled piece to be 2 1/8 inches wide and glued it onto the front flap. I took an extra strip of the background and adhered it to the inside of the front flap just so the inside would have a little pizzaz. I added the large die cut butterfly to the front flap, but only on the left side. I used foam squares from Gina K Designs because they are thin and provide the perfect amount of lift.

I wanted to have an uplifting note on the inside of the card, so I chose a sentiment from the Pink & Main You Can Fly Stamp Set. I stamped it with Juicy Watermark Ink and heat embossed it with Ultra Fine Gold Rush Embossing Powder.

I hope this card spreads a bit of joy to your neck of the woods! Remember to leave a comment here and on as many of the other blogs in the hop as you can! I'm so grateful for this crafty community and for their willingness to spread joy during these crazy times! Head over to Kristina Hein's blog next for more inspiration and I'll see you soon!

If I got this, I would frame it -- I know what it takes to create and if I made it, I would have to determine who was most card worthy and would not throw the card away if they received it! Not kidding.................
