Masked and Stenciled Spring Wildflowers

Hey, guys! Let's be honest - there's a lot of fear and anxiety in the world lately. I thought we could all use a small dose of happiness! So how about a little sneak peek at the March 2020 release from Pink & Main! (coming March 20th!)

One of my FAVORITES from the upcoming Pink & Main release is the Wildflowers stamp set. This large floral image is so gorgeous! I stamped it in the center of a piece of white cardstock with a black ink. I wanted to really make the Wildflowers stamp set shine, so I decided to make it the focal point by using the Mask It Rectangle Stencil. I placed the main stencil piece over my stamped image and instead of blending ink to create the center rectangle portion, I used a felt tip marker to trace the outline of the rectangle - skipping the portions that would overlap the rectangle so I didn't draw lines through my stamped image.

I removed the Mask It Rectangle stencil and added the smaller inner rectangle piece to the center of my card to cover the rectangle that I traced. I added the new Petite Petals stencil over top of the Mask It Rectangle stencil piece and used an Ergonomic Blending Brush to blend some blue ink over the Petite Petals stencil. When I removed the top stencil and the negative piece of the Mask It Rectangle stencil I had a pretty blue background with a spotlight on the wildflowers in the center. I colored in the image from the Wildflowers stamp set with alcohol markers and even added a pretty yellow background around the floral image.

I stamped a sentiment from the Wildflowers stamp set onto a strip of white cardstock, trimmed it down, and added it to the bottom of my card with foam tape. I needed to add the large "wildflowers" to finish off the sentiment, but adding it to the front of my card covered up too much of the pretty design! I opened up the card and stamped it on the inside instead!

I really hope this card brings some happiness to your day! See you on March 20th for the full Pink & Main release!
