Watercoloring with Simon Hurley Create. Dye Inks

Hello! I love to watercolor and a great way to make sure I get the exact colors I want is to use dye inks! And I love the color palette of the Simon Hurley Create. dye ink line!

The Painted Lines background stamp is perfect for watercoloring! I heat embossed the stamp with white powder and that created slightly wonky little "wells" to hold in the watercolor. Yay for simple and easy! You could use any kind of watercolor, but I decided to use the Simon Hurley Create. dye ink line to add a rainbow of color to the background. I squished a bunch of inks onto my work surface and sprayed them with a spritz of water from my Tim Holtz Distress Sprayer and used a brush to add color in between the heat embossed lines. I used Rosy CheeksGuppyTraffic ConeOver the MoonSlippery When WetOverzealousRemember Me, and Crown Me.

I stamped some images from the Bestest Friends stamp set and watercolored them so that they would match my background. I chose to make the balloon purple because I didn't have a lot of purple in the background and I wanted to add a little more purple to the card. I also stamped out a sentiment from the Bestest Friends stamp set and trimmed it into a banner.

I added all of my images to my card with foam squares for dimension. And that finishes this fun and happy birthday card! Thanks for stopping by!
