I started this card with a little die cutting. I used the Practically Oval Frame die set and die cut the fancy frame from black cardstock and basic oval shape twice - once from black and once from white cardstock. I die cut the Up a Tree die from the black oval die cut piece. This die is so fun because it can be used for multiple seasons! There are tops to the trees that you can die cut separately - cut them from orange and red cardstock for fall, green for summer, pink for spring - or leave them off for a spooky look!
I needed a spooky sky to go behind my "forest" so I blended Dark Wash Jeans hybrid ink and Grape Ape hybrid ink onto the white die cut oval. I wanted little stars in the sky so I flicked on some pearlescent white watercolor onto the inked die cut. I seriously love how it turned out! I stamped the cat, gravestone, ghost, moon, and speech bubble from the Halloween High Jinks stamp set, colored them with alcohol markers, and die cut them with the coordinating Halloween High Jinks die set.
Just a few finishing steps to make this card perfect! I stamped the sentiment with the LDRS Creative Watermark Ink Emboss ink pad and heat embossed it with White Embossing Powder. I picked out a piece of navy blue and white polka dotted patterned paper from the Homemade Happiness 6x6 paper pad and adhered all of my pieces together onto a card base and added a little clear glitter to the stamped images and the trees. So what do you think? Spooky - but not too spooky, right?! Thanks for joining me!
