Spooky Trick or Treating Scene

Are you loving the new fall and winter release from LDRS Creative?! I'm obsessed! I created a clean and simple - but super fun - Halloween card today using some of the new products!

I fell in love with the Halloween High Junks stamp set and Down Main Street die as soon as I saw them! The little kids are absolutely adorable and the die has super fun peek a boo doors! The die creates hinges so that you can pop open the doors and some of the awnings pop up, too!

I wanted to make an easy scene background for my trick or treaters, so I decided to use the Down Main Street die as my background. This die is not meant to be used for Halloween, but I love that you can change the look of the die depending on what color cardstock you cut from! Since I needed a spooky background I die cut a piece of black cardstock and I grabbed my Hybrid Mini Ink Cubes from LDRS Creative to add color behind my scene. I started ink blending at the top of my background panel so that I could add inks from dark to light. I feel like that's the easiest way to add color because it doesn't require extra blending. I used a bit of Iced Tea Hybrid Ink at the top, blended into Dan-D-Lion, and added Lantern Yellow at the bottom so that the lightest color would be peeking through the doors and windows of my die cut.

I stamped out some cute trick or treaters and their accessories from the Halloween High Jinks stamp set and colored them with alcohol markers. I just LOVE that little spider! And the cat on the pumpkin! They're such cute additions to the stamp set! Once I was done coloring them I used the coordinating Halloween High Jinks dies to cut out the images. I glued my images onto my card making sure to tuck the little ghost peeking out from behind the door on the left side of the card.

Check out that little ghost! So cute, right?! I stamped a sentiment at the bottom of my card using LDRS Creative Watermark Emboss ink and heat embossed it with LDRS Creative White Embossing Powder to finish my card! Thanks for joining me today!
