As fun as the Rainbow Bits Dies are - I thought they would be super fun as part of a peek a boo card! The rainbow is actually adhered to the inside of the card and when you open it up there's some fun patterned paper inside! To start I used white cardstock and ink blended a rainbow of LDRS Creative Hybrid Mini Inks in the basic shape of the outlines so that I could have colorful die cuts. I used Lipstick Jungle, In Your Face Orange, Lantern Yellow, Key Lime Pie, and Grape Ape. Once I had color laid down onto my cardstock I cut out the pieces from the Rainbow Bits die set. I LOVE the stitching detail down the center of the arches! I glued the ink blended pieces onto the base die so that I could work with the pieces all together.
I wanted to add some light texture to the background of my card, so I blended on some Alloy ink over the Plaid Stencil. I kept the ink light so it wouldn't overtake the card. Now comes the fun part! I positioned the Rainbow Bits dies at the bottom of my stenciled card and held them in place and lightly traced around the outline and used my scissors to cut out the large arch shape. Now I have a semi circle cut out from the bottom of the front of my card. I chose some black polka dot patterned paper from the Sweet Sensations 6 x 6 Patterned Paper Pack and adhered it to the inside of my card so that it shows through the arch shape to the front. I also added a thin strip of black cardstock as a finishing edge. For my sentiment I used "have a lovely day" from the Love in Bloom stamp set. I curved it to mimic the shape of my rainbow and stamped it with Raven Hybrid Ink.
All that's left is to add my rainbow! I closed my card and used foam squares behind my rainbow to give it dimension. I adhered it to the inside of my card on top of the patterned paper so you can see it when the card is opened and when it's closed! To finish things off I added some liquid glitter because every rainbow should sparkle! Here's my process video!
