Travel to Egypt with Kindred Stamps

Hi, there! Have you seen the Travel Around the World series from Kindred Stamps? Each month they release a new limited edition stamp set celebrating a different country and the very first set was Egypt! I absolutely cannot believe that there are still some left! It is my dream to visit Egypt and I loved playing with these stamps! I had a vision for this card that did not turn out in any way! Haha! But I worked through it and ended up with a card that I really love! Make sure to watch the video at the end!

I started by centering the Swirl stencil on a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Cardstock and pressed my Versamark ink through the stencil and heat embossed with gold powder. I thought it needed more color so I mixed up a yellow and a teal color with my Sakura Koi watercolors and watercolored in between the gold embossing. As I was coloring I realized that I was going to have one little swirl left. I could have a double blue or a double yellow and that really messed with my perfectionist brain! Haha! So I let my panel dry and then chopped it in half!

I stamped my little sphinx from the Travel Around the World Egypt stamp set and colored him with my new Spectrum Noir Triblend markers. I love these markers because it takes the guess work out of blends! That's one of the reasons why I don't like to color with alcohol markers. I can't ever seem to pick the right colors! The Triblend markers have a dark, medium, and light shade in each marker! I used the Blue Turquoise blend, Citrus blend, and Golden Brown blend markers for my image.

To finish off my card I used the new Chevron stencil and some Hickory Smoke Distress Ink to add some light gray color to the background. I stamped my sentiment and added it at a diagonal along the edge of my heat embossed piece. I hope you'll check out the video below!
