Stamped Text Backgrounds with The Rabbit Hole Designs

Hey, there! I love to create my own backgrounds - you all know that! Usually I stamp images across my backgrounds, but the sentiments in the Caffeinated Cat and Caffeinated Octopus from The Rabbit Hole Designs are just the best! I created a video for these cards, so be sure to scroll all the way to the bottom of this post to watch!

Aren't these cards the cutest?! And they were so easy to make! I started with Caffeinated Cat and lined up the sentiments in a straight line across my card in my MISTI. I moved my card up and down leaving the top and bottom of the card blank. I made sure to skip a couple lines so that I could swap the sentiments so that everything wouldn't blend together.

The Caffeinated Octopus card was just a little different. I still used my MISTI, but the sentiments wouldn't line up straight across. They were too long, so I stacked them one on top of the other and stamped a few lines and then swapped the sentiments again so that you could get a little glimpse of each of the sentiments. For the cat card I lined up my sentiments and so that they form a square background, but I left this one with the staggered look!

I stamped each of my images onto Bristol smooth cardstock with Versafine Onyx Black ink and colored them with my Staedtler felt tipped markers then cut them out with scissors. I popped them up with foam squares and added Ebony Nuvo Crystal Drops for a bit of embellishment.

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Lynnea, thank you so much for the video.. I always want to try this technique (repeated stamping) but waste so much paper even with my MISTI.. your video has given me inspiration to try again.. PS, Super cute cards, crushing on the pink octo!!
