Multi Color Stamped Backgrounds with The Hedgehog Hollow

Hi, there! I have two cards to share with you today using the January 2019 box from The Hedgehog Hollow! I love the Finding Your Way stamp set and used it to create two multi colored backgrounds! If you want to purchase a subscription there are several ways to subscribe! You could do a month to month rolling subscription to The Hedgehog Hollow starting with the January 2019 box or a three month subscription starting with the January box. There are also a few different boxes available for individual purchase so be sure to visit The Hedgehog Hollow shop!

I used a rainbow of Distress Oxide inks to stamp out my backgrounds with the Finding Your Way stamp set and finished one off with a chipboard unicorn piece and another with a watercolored image I stamped from the Geometric Menagerie stamp set.

I set up one of the stamps from the Finding Your Way stamp set in my MISTI and stamped a row with Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink. Then I re-positioned the stamp and inked with Twisted Citron and Fossilized Amber Oxide inks to build my background. I die cut a piece of watercolor cardstock and stamped and heat embossed the butterfly from the Geometric Menagerie stamp set and watercolored it with matching colors of watercolor markers. The Geometric Love stamp set is FULL of coordinating sentiments, so I picked one and stamped and cut it out and positioned it below my die cut piece.

I couldn't resist stamping a rainbow, so I used another stamp from the Finding Your Way stamp set and started in the middle with Wilted Violet Oxide ink. I started working up stamping with Worn Lipstick, Carved Pumpkin, and Fossilized Amber at the top. Then I worked down from the purple with Mermaid Lagoon, Peacock Feathers, and Twisted citron at the bottom. I trimmed the background panel so that there would be a thin white border when I glued it to my card base.

I knew I wanted to use the fabulous unicorn chipboard piece, but I didn't like the way the brown looked with the stamped background, so I pressed my Versamark ink over it and added some black embossing powder. It's super black and shiny, but it still didn't stand out enough, so I added a die cut vellum piece and glued the chipboard on top. I stamped and white heat embossed a sentiment from the Geometric Love stamp set to finish off the card!

I hope you've enjoyed these stamped background cards! Thanks for stopping by!
