Hi! My style is usually clean and simple, but I like to think I have a certain flair! I love to create clean cards - usually with a background technique. I have a video using the Sea Friends stamp set and Zebra stencil to make a quick set of four cards. Be sure to scroll to the bottom to watch the video! I share some tips along the way!
I used the Zebra stencil with a rainbow of Distress Inks to create all four of my backgrounds. I masked off two stripes using masking tape and blended a darker ink in the bottom left and lighter in the top right. Each time I changed colors I lined up the stencil with the previous inked color. It was super easy to create four backgrounds and only took me about 15-20 minutes.
The Distress Ink colors I used are :
Pink - Picked Raspberry and Worn Lipstick
Orange - Ripe Persimmon and Spiced Marmalade
Yellow - Mustard Seed and Squeezed Lemonade
Green - Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron
Blue - Mermaid Lagoon and Tumbled Glass
Purple - Dusty Concord and Shaded Lilac
I like to follow a few key rules when I'm mass producing cards - keep the design simple, focus on one area and make it special somehow, and use minimal embellishments. For this set of cards I put most of my effort into making a colorful background, so I kept the rest of the cards simple. I colored a bunch of images from the Sea Friends stamp set with my watercolor markers and cut them out and played with different arrangements. I used a different sentiment and arrangement of images on each card, but you could make this set even easier to make if you made each one identical! To finish off the cards I added a few black Nuvo drops. And that's it!
