Forever & Ever Valentine Tag Card

Hello! I'm sorry for my long absence! It was my birthday over the weekend, but alas, I had to work Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. I thought that I was going out to dinner with a good friend from work last night, but it ended up being a surprise party for me! It was so much fun to go out and have a good time! Today it's back to work! Birthday festivities have kept me away from my craft room...but no longer! Today's card features the February card kit from Simon again, but instead of stamps or Gelatos I used the rub-ons!

I will also be entering this card into the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. This week the challenge is to use pink and red!

Many people don't know, but I'm new to stamping. I only really started last April. Before that, rub-ons were my go to form for sentiments, so this kit was super exciting for me!

To start with, I grabbed a wood veneer tag from Studio Calico and picked out a few images to burnish onto the tag. I cut out each individual sentiment from the sheet of rub-ons. I just find this is easier than having the whole sheet of rub-ons waving about. Then I took off the paper backing, placed the image where I wanted it, and burnished it with the popscicle stick that came with the package. I added some gray baker's twine that I picked up from Target and my tag is complete.

I cut the patterned paper to be 1/8" smaller than my A2 card base. It's hard to pick up in the photos, but I used a shimmer spray from Tsukineko in the sparkle finish. I sprayed it all over my paper from about 10" above. It gives a sheer shimmer almost like the Wink of Stella clear glitter pen. There were two different shimmer sprays in the package. The Sparkle is more subtle while the Frost is more intense sparkle.

I used tape runner to adhere my paper onto the card and foam squares to adhere the wood veneer tag. That's it! Pretty simple!
