Hello Darling Compass Card.

Hi! I hope everyone is enjoying their extra hour of sleep today and feeling well rested! I wanted to pop in really quickly to share a few travel/I miss you/distance - related cards that I've made using the October 2014 kit from Studio Calico. I believe these will be the last from this kit for a little while. I have some other projects that I want to share with you!

I've made a video to go along with this card, so be sure to scroll down! I started with a card base made from Neenah 110lb Solar White cardstock. I adore the copper cardstock that came in the kit! I wanted to use it for this card, but I didn't want to use up 1/4 of the sheet!...So....I cheated! I cut two 1" strips and adhered them with my Scotch ATG gun to the sides of my card. No one will ever know that the copper paper doesn't cover the whole front of the card! Then I added a panel of the black striped paper and a panel of the map paper that I had leftover from another card that I made.

I used a 3" scallop circle punch from The Paper Studio to punch out a circle and mounted the wood veneer compass from the kit with glue dots onto the paper. Then I used foam squares to adhere the paper and wood veneer onto the card.

I stamped the sentiment in Studio Calico Doc Brown ink onto Neenah paper and trimmed the sentiment into a strip and used my EK Success scissors to trim the ends into banner ends. The piece was adhered with a few more foam squares. That's it for that card! Here's the video!

And I have another card for you, too!

This one is just so simple. I love it! It took me less than two minutes to make. Literally! As always, I used Neenah Solar White cardstock to make the base of the card. Then I trimmed the map paper to cover the entire card front. I stamped my sentiment in SC Well Red Ink and trimmed out the piece to make a little banner and popped it up using foam squares.

I used a black pen to underline and circle the words "I wanna run with you" that were printed on the paper and draw a little heart. I didn't think it stood out enough, so I grabbed my red pen and drew over where I'd all ready doodled and colored in the heart. I think this made it pop a little more.

As a finishing touch I added 3 of the little black dots that came in the kit. I really love the way this card turned out!

That's it! I'm off to work! I hope you enjoy the rest of your Sunday!
