A Yummy, Yummy Shaker Card.

Hello! Today I made an awesome shaker card using the SSS August Card Kit "Summer Dreams". I'm going to enter this card into their Monday Challenge Blog. This week it was all about summertime. Anything that summertime inspires you to create. I love ice cream and popsicles and other summer goodies, and this kit was so inspiring! It's perfect!

The base of this card is just your standard shaker setup adhered to a white card base. To create the "filling" of the shaker, I used a bunch of colors of sequins from Doodlebug. In addition, I stamped and embossed the smaller images from the stamp set (the popsicles and the cherries) and watercolored them. I covered them with some Wink of Stella and I made sure I put them into the shaker window face down. I love the addition of the popsicles!

To finish off the card I stamped the sentiment in black ink and trimmed the edges of the paper strip into a banner end. I stamped and embossed the larger popsicle image and colored them using the Tim Holtz Distress Markers that came in the kit. This was the first time I used these markers...and I love them! The blue one is Peacock Feathers and the green one is a mix of the Peacock Feathers and Squeezed Lemonade. These may be the first of these markers to grace my craft room...but they won't be the last! I added probably 4 or 5 layers of Wink of Stella (letting it dry in between, of course). I wanted a super shimmer!

Okay! I suppose that's all! You have a little more time to enter your project into the Monday challenge for SSS and I really encourage you to do so! Just follow the link at the beginning of the post, or this one here!
